It’s another infection

hI Jaxs welcome to the forum. Is this an infection in your breast? Can you tell us a bit more about this and we can maybe offer up some experiences . x 

Yes it’s where I had the lumpectomy and radiation it’s swollen very tender to touch and the skin is hot and red all around it. The Dr has given me 2 weeks of flucloxacillin to take I just hope to sts hurting as I have 5 days till I fly

It’s cellulitis 

Hi Jaxs could this be Lymphodema in the breast as this is exactly how mine started and thats what it turned out to be It starts as cellulitis in the breast, mine still has a bit like orange peel five years down the line. Can you ask to be seen by a Lynphodema nurse if they have one?. 

Flucloxacillin is the anti biotic of choice for this(I carry a supply so that I can start immediately if this flares up)  and you will always need 2weeks and not just one week which is the normal from a GP. I used Dermacool 5% which you can get on prescription or order online its a cooling cream and you can keep it in the fridge.

Oh my sounds very painful and hope the antibiotic brings it under control.  Cellulitis needs to be treated quickly so glad you are on medication.  Hope you feel better soon.
