Hi. I was just wondering if anyone had a surgery appointment and sentinel node probe localisation appointment on same day. As I have surgery on Friday at 8am and my appointment for node probe localisation 9.10am on Friday too.
Can anyone tell me if this is right as I thought I'd get the node probe localisation before surgery. Tried to phone hospital today but no answer and no one got back to me yet.
Thanks.
Hi Unlucky39. Yes, this is right. I had exactly this on Monday. You will arrive at 8 and see various people before the surgery eg to have blood pressure checked, blood taken, confirm you haven't eaten or drunk anything, get fitted for surgical stockings etc etc. At 9.10 they will send you off to radiography for the sentinel node injection. You will have the actual surgery some time after that the same morning. My BCN warned me that lots of people get confused by this and cancel their sentinel appointment thinking it can't be right
