Hello,

I've been on Letrozole since 9 months now and I've reliciously taken the pill every morning.
Since a few days I've noticed heart burn. It's not acid reflux as it doesn't actually flow anywhere, but it's a bit painful in the stomach area. I did have heart burn during chemo, but never before and then it stopped after I finished chemo.
Has anyone experienced this?

  • Hi Colibri

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing heart burn at the moment.  While I'm not on Letrozole as my breast cancer was triple negative I've noticed that you haven't had any answers yet so I thought I'd reply to you to put you back on top of the discussion.  Hopefully someone will be along with an answer soon.

    Best wishes

  • Ask your GP for omeprezole it's an antacid and helped me through chemo. Or try over the counter gaviscon. I take my Letrozole before bed not sure if it may help. Good luck x

I've been told to take it first thing in the morning. But I am trying to switch to take it with food now. I think on an empty stomach it might not be good. Thank you!

  • I am on Letrozole , been a couple of weeksi now and just started to get heartburn. I will mention it to BC nurse and Oncology. On so many tablets it could be any of them. Eating mints and ginger biscuits also Gaviscon .

I've started to take it with food at dinner now and the heart burn is gone. I'll still mention it to my oncologist next time though.
