Hi all,
I have been in chemo since May, i have had 4 rounds of EC and 1 round of Paclitaxel. I worn the cold cap for the first 4 but stop for the Paclitaxel. It’s been 3 weeks since then and my hair is now coming out a lot.
Did you scalp really hurt to touch when your hair started coming out Or should I be worried?
many thanks
Hi Munchkin glad you’re getting thru your chemo . Don’t worry about painful scalp it’s quite usual to get pain just before a shedding of hair . A lot of people including myself take this as the time to take control . We’re all different in how we react to the loss of our hair .I didn’t cold cap had ECX6 had a pixie cut prior but still got pain when hair decided enough .
For me the answer was to get hairdresser to cut it as short as possible which eased the pain as less movement at follicles ,then just before no.6 she did no 2 shave .
best wishes for the rest of your treatment
