I was told My hair would fall out my niece said I will get you a head scarf. I said no then wig was mentioned I said no way beanie hats or baseball cap for me. So just waiting to start treatment which seems very far away. And my brain still hasn’t processed what is happening and I’m wondering when it will head all over the place.

  • Hi Deebug

Welcome to the forum and sorry to heart hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Have you got a date for starting treatment yet?  It's perfectly understandable that you haven't processed the diagnosis yet and that your head is all over the place.  Things should start getting clearer for you when you start your treatment.

Just take things one day at a time and keep yourself busy to help take your mind off things.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • In 3 to 4 weeks time crippling this waiting game. They will let me know when I have to go for my MOT first before I start thank you for your support xx

  • I finished chemo in May. All I can say is through it all I absolutely took one day at a time and kept as busy as I could. As for losing your hair, it's more the thought of it that is worse!' I wore beanie hats but only outside. My hair is coming back really fast as are eyebrows and lashes. I actually like it 'cropped and grey" after having a blonde Bob for years. Didn't fancy a wig, too hot especially with very warm weather.

Don't worry worry that your head is all over the place, mine still is . It is extremely scary and my goodness lots to take in. Be kind to yourself Deebug. X

  • Hi you sound like I did at the beginning. Take things slow one step at a time.Everything sorts itself out. Decisions  and choices will be made, and you will handle it all. I got a wig with regret at the time but I have worn it, not very often though, but the option is there. You'll look back and think wow I did it,  I've got through this. Good luck x
