Currently day 31 post op of single mastectomy. Drain continues to vary amounts, 80mls Thursday, Friday reading 30mls and today already back to upto 70 mls and it’s another 24 hours before the 24 hour reading is due.
no signs of infection, fluid is a clear pinkish with odd amounts of debris what looks like fat residue been pulled through the vacuumed system on occasion. Did have 2 drains when drainage for drain 1 got down to 20mls it’s drain 2 which remains
I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for 40 years - any healing delays are always blamed on diabetes. My diabetic control has been tight since surgery and the scar has healed well.
I have been advised they got all the cancer and my lymp nodes are clear. Not sure if the continued daily drainage is normal for diabetics, or if they missed something
i have been told my skin biopsy was clear, but had all the other symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer, just after starting the 3rd course of antibiotics I never stopped them until 2 weeks post surgery. My symptoms of mastitis started back mid March. Just starting to wonder if they missed something and feeling so fed up and low about the last drain now
