Swelling after mastectomy?

How stressful you poor thing!  Why did it have to be changed?  I had two drains for some reason.....

I like that we are mastectomy sisters! I haven’t got an appointment yet for further treatment. The physio rang today to see if I was ok and doing the exercises.  I asked her about appointment and she said should be in about four weeks. I expect a letter soon. I have tried meditation but for the last few months when we both got our diagnosis I have been unable to relax enough.  I love reading and I find listening to podcasts from Book club and A Good read and others help me sleep.  Thanks for responding xxxx

Hi i had a masectomy in February  and still got numbness under arm arm and a bit where had lymph nodes removed  It all takes time i suppose.  You will be fine try not to think too much hard i know xx

Hi Thanks for your message. I think I am in too much of a hurry . What I need to do is relax.and stop analysing and comparing. Just let things happen. Sounds good written down not so easy to keep to. Xxxxx

You had 2 drains!?! The first morning the top popped and then it filled twice but apparently it was collecting the right colour so they did remove it after a week x

OOh that doesn't sound nice lol!  I had two drains for a week.  They came out but I now have seroma which is a swelling /build up of fluid that has nowhere to go . It is one step forward and two back for me at the moment but I will get there. x 

HI Janemb I have also developed a seroma and just have a question - you said you had to have yours drained several times - over what kind of period are we talking?  Maybe weekly for several weeks? I am holding off having mine drained and hoping it will disperse itself but it is really uncomfortable
