Hi, so pleased you are home, take care, stay strong and wishing you a speedy recovery Xx
Hi kas79 I'm doing ok. I have not had reconstruction yet will have to wait for couple years in case of reoccurrence.im sorry your cancer has come back .it must. Be worrying for you. .I'm doing better now drain has come out. A few twinges where stitches are under armpit and because part of chest muscle removed.so some numbness as well. I feel ok in myself just glad to get rid of the lump as it was10cm and I have small boobs. .appt23rd June with consultant so hope he has got everything and .may need radiotherapy but hopefully not. .I don't think I have really processed it yet. As when I saw consultant on the Friday I had op following Monday so no time to overthink. My hospital stay was fine .I had 2days in hospital athe op was fine .I went down at1145 and was back on the ward by 230pm awake. .i did get a little upset when I first looked at it but I would rather live like this than with the sarcoma. Everyone goes through so many different emotions I definitely have it's. Normal. I wish you well and send you love .take care
Hi. In 2019 I was diagnosed with breast cancer triple negative, I did chemoterapy and radiotherapy. I have BRCA1 gene positive. I did MRI and the blood test for the ovarian cancer, I'm waiting for the ultrasound appointment. So far all the reults have shown that I have no cancer. I decided not to have mastectomy or ovarectomy. But I am very confused by my decision. The doctor did not say what will happen if the cancer returns, will I be able to have reconstraction operation then or not? But I realize he cant predict the future either. Has anyone else made the same decision?
Hiya, I was told I could have reconstruction at a later date. As this is my second time with BC within 5 months I can’t have a lumpectomy again so it has to come off. I am having an implant until I can lose the weight for reconstruction. You have to be a bmi of 30 or under for reconstruction due to complications. They take it from you tummy tissue usually.
Hope that helps!

Hi Cuba that's totally understandable . I have only had a single masectomy and have recovered well. There is some pain and discomfort but they will give you adequate pain relief .the drain is annoying and I forgot sometimes I had it in. I got myself a v pillow which was great to use as trying to sleep can be hard with drain etc. It's natural to feel scared about any operation but they will keep an eye on you during it. Everyone I have met on my journey has been great. They totally understand your concerns. The journey is not an easy one but you will get through it with support from friends and famy. I wish you well take care
