LHi
Hope everyone is doing OK,, I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today but sure will be back on form tomorrow. I had my first pac week last Friday and reacted badly to it twice. Saw the oncologist and tried a different one last Friday nun-pac rhis is 3 weekly for 6 sessions rather than weekly for 12 sessions. It that didn't work was told couldn't do anymore chemo at all.
Luckily no reaction, but today I am aching all over, sore mouth nose bleed bad belly, no appetite, soe throat pain killers not helping, so cold too. Should I call the emergency line or am I being a big baby?
They should have given you instructions on what does or doesn't require calling the emergency line, but if in doubt, call. Better to take the chance of being a big baby than take the chance of missing something important and landing yourself in big trouble.
By the way, this alternative pac is supposedly gentler. Side effects are normal with chemo, but overall this form may give you a better experience.
Hi, if you feel unsure enough to question it then my advice is to call them. They'd rather reassure you and my experience was that it was never too much trouble. And you can also call or chat to Macmillan on here too, helpful if it's out of clinic hours, Hope your side effects ease soon
Thanks, I did call them in the end. I have been given lots of drugs to help xx
