Just looking for your experiences re nausea and vomiting on chemo
Has anyone taken the antibiotics sickness tablets from the day before chemo and has it helped ? Onco said it wouldn’t do any harm but also didn’t think it would necessarily help but just wondered if any of you had tried it ?
My oncologist is changing my meds again as my first two chemos I’ve been really sick afterwards , so hopefully these new meds might help although I know it’s trial and error
Hugs to all

I had EC and then P. For EC I had to take a long acting anti sickness tablet called akynzeo. It lasted 5 days and was brilliant and had to be taken at least one hour before chemo so I took it before leaving home for chemo. Another longer acting one is emend. Also the steroids upset my stomach so I took omeprazole and that helped with the nausea I had from that. I know this isn’t what you were asking but wondered if you have tried akynzeo or emend?
Hi
I remember you saying about Emend actually, I’ll ask tomorrow because it might well be that that they’re giving me , thanks for reminder
How were you on P ? Xx
I preferred P to EC. My brain was less fuzzy and some of the tiredness lifted a bit. I had some slightly uncomfortable joint pains on the first cycle, that did not re-appear in the other 3. And had to continue look after skin dryness (unscented moisturisers in shower and afterwards) and nails (cold mitts and gloves, dark nail polish to protect from sunlight etc). Really I found P OK - the premeds always sent me to sleep and I was always in need of a good one by the time it got to chemo day!
Hope you get emend or something similar for the next round xx
That’s good , glad to know you found P overall ok x
So I had omeprazole this morning followed by aprepitant ? when I got into the ward ( that was about an hour before the chemo )
I have 2 aprepitant doses home with me along with ondanestron and levomeprozane
Hopefully they will help this time

Am glad you have aprepitant and fingers crossed that works better for you this time.
I had Emend for the FEC and then Ondansetron for the Docetaxyl. The Emend was fine but the ondansetron caused severe constipation.
I had my first EC on Tuesday. They gave me an antisickness tablet one hour before the infusion and I haven’t had any problems. I took some other tablets home with me but haven’t needed them as yet. Just starting to get a bit of a problem with acid reflux this afternoon, 48 hours on.
