I still have numb finger ends 6 weeks after finishing docetaxel.  I hoping it will resolve. Has anyone else had this ongoing problem and how long did it take to improve?

Thanks xx

  • Hi Bobbiboo

i only had one Docetaxel as I couldn't tolerate it had 8 of the side effects and was really poorly. My feet are my lingering problem I had neuropathy and my heels and big toes go numb and jab intermittently. This is 10 weeks on. My finger and toe nails still feel at times like they have been shut in a door.

I should have had 3 FEC and 3 Docetaxal but I had 3 FEC 1 Docetaxel then went back to FEC for last 2 so had my 6 which I finished 4 weeks agoThumbsup now waiting to start 15 sessions of Radiotherapy on 16th May. Hope you feel better soon.x We will get there x

  • Hello Wave I still have this issue though it’s improving. I finished chenonmiddke of November 2021 and my fingers now feels fretty good, just the very tip that’s a bit numb. My feet, middle toes on right foot still numb, left foot sane toes but less numbness. I now take neuroboine daily, mixture of B vitamins that was prescribed by my oncologist and I do think it’s helping, I also take vitamin D3

    Congrats on finishing chemo Heartpulse

  • I'm 7 months out and my fingers and toes are still numb and tingling, but I'm also on Herceptin and Letrozole, and those are side effects of both those drugs. I'm hoping that once the Herceptin is finished, it might improve or go away. I started the Herceptin at the same time as Docetaxel so it's really difficult to tell what's causing what.

Are you still on anything else that might also be causing it?

  • It can slowly but surely improve and not everyone with numb toes after docetaxel has them forever. It can still improve even a year or two after treatment so hang in there and I hope it gets better for you x
