I’m new, Hi everyone. I was just interested to hear how people have got on with a nipple tattoo? I had a left breast mastectomy in December, with a reconstruction taken from my back muscle and lymph node removal at the end of January as it was present in 3 nodes after my sentinel lymph node biopsy. I was facing 24 weeks of chemo and took part in a study, which proved the chemo would be negligible and therefore have moved straight to radiotherapy. Had my planning session on the 8th April and am still awaiting start date. I lost my nipple and areole and will be having a tattoo. I wondered had anyone else had this and how they felt about it please? Sorry long message there!!
I personally haven’t had mine done as yet but I have a friend who had a double mastectomy 18 years ago, when she was only 30, she had prosthetic reconstruction and nipple tattoos and she showed me them the other week, they are amazing. I’ll see if I can crop the picture to not identify her and post it x
Hi roo
hope you don’t mind me butting into your thread I’ve had the same reconstruction as you I am 16months post op and was wondering do you still have numbness down your back and on your arm? I haven’t considered a tattoo nipple and don’t think I will bother.
take care
Anne
Hi, I am still numb across my back, side of arm and my armpit. I find the armpit bit really odd as cannot feel to shave! Does that makes sense?
