I am waiting on results of my genetic tests it’s been 3 long weeks I am due to have double mastectomy in two weeks I am so emotional inside I just can’t cry I don’t know why ? I had a cancerous tumour taken from my kidney 2 years ago go infection in wound so had an open wound for 4 months that had to be packed every day so scared of this surgery then if my test comes back high I will need further tests for cancer else where WHY ME

I think we all ask why me and the truth of it is there is more and more people being affected by this . Hope you get some better news and it all goes as well as it can. Take care of you and cry if you can it is a way of getting those emotions out xx

I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment. The why me is a questions all of us affected by cancer ask ourselves when we are feeling low. Hopefully you won't have the same reaction to this operation that you had to your previous one.
Would you consider ringing the Macmillan helpline and talk to someone about how you are feeling. The number is 0808 808 00 00 and it's open from 8 am to 8 pm seven days a week. If you would like they can put you in touch with another patient similar to yourself. It's called the telephone buddy system and the person would ring you once a week to check on how you are doing.
