Hi, I have recently had a tumour removed and my lymph nodes are clear, thankfully. I have also been told that the cancer is a grade 3 aggressive type ER- and HER2- so there is no hormone treatment available. As a result I will be having chemo and then radiotherapy. I now have to wait for 4 weeks for oncology to contact me and I have little information. Has anyone been in a similar situation and can you tell me how long the chemo is likely to be? TIA.
What is the PR status? If that too is negative than this is a triple negative breast cancer. There are several of us here with this type, but treatments vary, so until your oncologist presents the treatment plan this is a bit of a how long is a piece of string.
They tend to open gaps between surgery and chemo and between chemo and surgery to allow the body to recover, so that is not unusual.
