Morning, I saw my consultant yesterday and didn't have my list of questions with me as only 1 hours notice for the appointment.
I stupidly forgot to ask a big question,- are there other tests that we should have to see if cancer is any where else in the body? I'll be having a mastectomy soon due to DCIS. The results from mri showed up a non-mass type enchantement as well.
I think they can tell a lot from bloods. I had MRI scan on both breasts before my mastectomy which showed lymph nodes suspicious and after another biopsy had a level 2 lymph node clearance added to op. After Op before chemo. I had a Muga scan on heart, Bone scan and CT scan with contrast. All thankfully were clear. Maybe worth asking different hospitals do things differently I guess. All this may have been to see if I could take chemo or because it was showing in my lymph nodes. Like you say difficult to remember it all. I have phone consultations with my consultant and even though I write a list it's hard to get it all in. Hope you get sorted take care x
Hi, it's so easy to forget what to ask, isn't it. I had a CT scan to check for any spread. This was, at least in our hospital trust, a standard procedure for anyone with a lump bigger than 5cm, mine was 5.5. I am not sure if it's standard everywhere like this so worth asking to be sure. Good luck.
