Can I just ask if anyone else had to stop this treatment due to severe side effects ? I should have had 3 FEC and 3 Docetaxal but I had 5/1 as couldn't tolerate side effects. Now worried it may affect chances of reaccurance. I guess some folk can't tolerate certain types of chemo.Slight frown

  • I had 1cycle of TCHP, spent 2weeks in hospital with diarrhea, treatment stopped but when I had mastectomy 2 months later surgeon found no sign of the cancer. Just finished 5 days radiotherapy

  • Just to hopefully reassure you, the addition of taxanes (3rd gen chemo) usually only adds a 2-3% benefit over 2nd gen. So, if you’ve still had six rounds, it’s not likely to have really effected your reoccurrence risk too much.   This is based on what it adds on NHS predict when you switch between the chemo regimes. Obviously, it’s slightly different for different people but it’s not a huge change. X

  • Thanks Hel39

That is reassuring to know. I am not awaiting starting radiotherapy on 16th May for 3 weeks so hope all precautions taken. Then Letrozole for 5 years see how it all goes . Certainly some journey. Good luck with all yours folk x
