first oncologist appointment , to find out treatment
all i know so far is
breast is grade 3
lymph nodes grade 2
im stage 3 aggressive
her 2 awaiting results
ct scan awaiting results
bone scan clear
have been told chemo the masectomy of cancer breast only
not sure what questions to ask , is anyone else on here taken warfarin and gone through chemo ?
First of all, if you are taking warfarin, your oncologist needs to know about it, and I'd mention it to the chemo nurses (rather than assume they have been given the information.)
As for what to ask:
1. Do we have the results from all the scans? If not, what scan results are still pending? If yes, what do the results say?
2. What stage is the cancer?
3. Is this cancer of a type that will respond to hormone-related treatment?
4. What chemo drugs will I be given? What are the expected benefits and what are the risks?
5. where will chemo take place? How often? How long is each chemo session and how many such sessions do I need?
6. Who is my designated nurse, what is her phone number and what is her email address?
7. When will surgery be taking place? Where and who is the surgeon? When do I meet them?
8. How often will I be seeing the oncologist?
9. Is there anything else I need to know?
