Hiya, I just wondered if anyone has suffered from a rash after having Docetaxel? I'm 8days after my first cycle of Docetaxel, I started with a little pimple on my chest, that has become itchy and more like a little rash. Iv tried to research this and I think it is a chemo rash. I'm taking antihistamines, but just wondering if anyone has any experience of what would be best to put on it.
Thank you for any help x
The antihistamines are helping the rash with the itching, but I'm worried what I put on it might be agrivating. I'm healing so slow iv had a blister on my lip that's 5 weeks old and slow healing, so I don't want to cause the rash to grow.
I hope you are feeling a bit better, I still can't shake the nausea. Xx
I do feel for you with the nausea, it must be awful. Isn’t there something stronger they can give you ?
i haven’t had any antihistamines cos only really started last night so may try some tomorrow.I’m feeling a little better and not as weak, managed to change the bed and hoover , which I couldn’t have done a couple of days ago.
I do hope you soon feel better , ask if they can give you something to heal the sore as 5weeks is a really long time to have it.
Hiya missi k I'm glad that you have more energy, every bit of positive helps us move forward. Iv got 4 anti-sickness medications, iv tried them in various combinations but, nausea is still there, at least I'm not being sick!
The blister on my lip is healing but very very slowly.
I hope your rash hasn't got any worse, mine has remained the same up to yet. We may have to ring onco clinic for advice about what to put on it.
Good luck with everything xxx
Yes I also got the rash, I just used hydrocortisone cream and a variety of unscented ‘natural’ creams, in honesty, I don’t think much actually affected it, it went once I’d finished chemo. Sometimes it can get infected and then you might need antibiotics or antibiotic cream. It was really annoying and sore too so I do feel for you xx
Yes very true , every little positive does help , always been fairly fit and healthy but but feel more 80 than 53 at the moment.
I decided to remove my necklace last night and the itching has eased off a lot . So I’m wondering if the chemo has made my skin sensitive to it .
Yes it might’ve helped a bit, my skin was sensitive to everything tbh, I once put essential oils in the bath, didn’t do it twice! It does go afterwards though. It also affected my eyes so I used visuagx gel and Theloz duo and that really helped, it can affect the way your eye tears lubricate x
