Hi.

Just wondering if any women have experienced really heavy periods while having chemotherapy and how you managed to deal with them.

I'm a lot heavier then my normal period and going through pads and tampons every hour. Driving me mad. Just glad I bought waterproof period pants for bed time lol but even then I'm up every hour having to change and clean.

Anyone has any advice is much appreciated x

  • I am past the period stage so can't actually answer your question but have you thought of asking your bc nurse? Alternatively have you mentioned to nurse administering your chemo

  • Hi Becky05

Thanks for your reply. I have My oncology dr on Tuesday then round 3 chemo Wednesday so I will I ask them then.

  • Hi, recommend getting medical advice.    I had really heavy bleeding (not chemo related - not on chemo and its a long story!) and was put on Tranexamic Acid (TXA) which really helped cut down and then stop the bleeding.   You may have to check that this is OK with the chemo team, as its a clotting agent.
