The lumps are probably scar tissue and it's quite normal for it to be painful.  If it's still quite painful on Friday mention it to your surgeon and they will probably give you a prescription for painkillers.

I had the same surgery - mine was 11 March. I was quite comfortable until the dressings came off, but then I started to get more and more sore. I had shingles a couple of years ago, and this feels very similar. The skin all around my armpit, and along the side of my breast feels like someone went over it with a cheese grater :( There's nothing to see on the skin apart from the scars. I saw the surgeon yesterday for my follow-up and he was happy with how it's healing and said the tenderness should resolve itself, although he didn't specify a time. I'm hoping it's sooner rather then later!
