Hi everyone I just been to see my lovely surgeon who gave me good news that they removed all my cancer and my lymph nodes are clear!!
However she mentioned my cancer was bigger than originally thought and it is matistic? I think I have that word right? Now after reading about it online I'm seeing that matistic cancer isn't curable and I will have to go into treatment indefinite? Has anyone been through this my cancer type is triple negative grade 3 I'm so scared I don't know if I'm cancer free or not. I have rang my breast nurse but I'm waiting for them to pick up my voice mail
Hi DBL
So sorry you are unsure what your consultant has said , what treatment have you been offered ? I am not sure your consultant would have said they got all the cancer if they have found more elsewhere ? I am sure your nurse will clarify , there are lots of different words associated with breast cancer that all sound the same , and I know we often home in on just one word?
Hopefully your nurse will have called you back by now
Jo xx
So sorry that you have had this news . My cancer is the same as yours with clear lymph nodes and I wasn’t told it was metastatic. Have you had other scans and if so were they clear . I had a worry over a liver abscess but after discussing this my GP said that if lymph nodes clear it very unlikely that it has spread . You need to get clarity on what they mean. Have you had a summary through of your treatment via letter as reading that may help. I no this is so hard but worrying about it won’t change what the outcome is and you need to look after your well-being until you know what the facts are. Big hugs we are all here to support you whatever the outcome xxx
Hi, so sorry you have this confusion and added anxiety. I hope your nurse gets back to you soon with clarification, good luck
Hi so I had it completely wrong my cancer is metaplastic it's the sub type of the cancer so it's still good news they took all the cancer away and lymph nodes were clear but I might have to go on some more treatment due to the cancer being metaplastic, there are so many words different kinds etc it's so easy to get confused isn't it. Xx
That’s great news . It’s no wonder we get confused with so many types of breast cancer and stages and grades xxx
