Hair after chemo

I didn't cold cap but found that my hair took a couple of months to start coming back properly ( I had wispy, fuzzy hair growing while on docetaxel).

I found that between months 3-4 my hair properly took off and I stopped wearing any hats. It was pretty slow growing for a long time, but now is back to growing fast again, as it did before chemo. I'm 14 months post-chemo.

I’m about 11 weeks post-chemo.  I used the cold cap but it didn’t work well at all for me and I lost most (over 75%) of my hair.  I cut the rest really short and wore a wig.  However I now have a full head of hair which seems fairly thick, though is only about an inch long so far!  Still, it’s looking promising.

My eyelashes and eyebrows started growing about 6-7 weeks post chemo.  At first I could feel them with my fingertips but not see them because they were fine and pale.  But once they started they grew pretty quickly. My eyebrows are pretty normal now, my eyelashes are all present and correct and look normal but are not yet quite as long as pre chemo.  Best wishes and I hope yours are back very soon! x

I am now 10 weeks post chemo, I successfully used the cold cap and kept about 80% of my hair. I think I have just about stopped shedding and my hair is really thin but also growing back at the same time.

I didn’t loose my eyelashes but my eyebrows are back, they started like little dots and a week later they look like eyebrows!I can see them getting longer every day!

Finished radiotherapy 3 weeks ago and am feeling more like my old self. X

I’m only 1 week post chemo, and cold capped successfully so far - a bit thin on top but kept well over 75% I’d say.  My hair stopped shedding and started regrowing in the thin bits (regrowth is white and fIne like beatthebeast) about six or seven weeks into the weekly paclitaxel, so about 10 weeks after my last EC. Up till then I lost as much if not more than on the EC, but I’ve had virtually no shedding since.  I know others who didn’t cold cap have had regrowth on weekly paclitaxel so maybe I’ve already done the post chemo shed.  Anyone have any experience?

No eyebrows or eyelashes regrowing yet though, so I’ll look forward to them in a month or so by the sounds of it!
