Hi
Today I went to see my oncologist to discuss my next treatment plan. As my cancer is her2 positive I have to have 18 cycles of her 2 treatment unfortunately it didn't work to the best of it's ability so they have decided I now need to swap over to trastuzmab which I have to have infused rather than injected I feel so upset about this and I don't know why. I also have to have 3 weeks of radiotherapy. Has anyone else had this treatment? I feel so down and I don't know why.
Hi Youhavegotthis
I'm sorry to hear that your first lot of treatment didn't work very well. It's hardly surprising that you feel down it's no doubt as a result of finding out that your treatment didn't work to the best of it's ability. It's not unusual for treatment plans to change as you go through treatment, your medical will always do what's best for you. While I didn't have to have trastuzmab I did have 3 weeks of radiotherapy after having chemo and surgery.
Wishing you all the best with your new treatment.
