Hi everyone

Just had my Covid Test ready for the PICC to be inserted next Tuesday.

Starting my Chemo next Thursday, and am having a total of 21 weeks of it.

Slightly concerned about the 12 weekly sessions, as no recovery time.

Anyone else in the same situation?

  • I’m currently having Paclitaxel on my 4th of 9 and quite honestly I can’t tell I’ve had it apart from a flushed face the next day.  I know we are all different but I’ve found it fine and hope you have a similar experience.  Best wishes x

  • I had 3 EC then 9 paclitaxel. Paclitaxel was much easier to manage than the EC.

My regime lasted 19 weeks, it honestly flew by. I finished on the 9th Feb.

Good luck. You can do this.

That's great news and all the best x

  • Hi

I finished my chemo last August and like you had 21 weeks in total of chemo, 3x 3 weekly EC then 12xweekly Paclitaxel. Like the others have said the weekly Paclitaxel was so much more easier. It did have it's own side effects. I did have bowel issues and I was advised to paint my nails are dark colour to help protect them. Also make sure you drink plenty of water.

    Take care

  • Hi Sandrad

I had 3 x EC then 9 x weekly Paclitaxel with Carboplatin added on weeks 1, 4 & 7. I found the Paclitaxel only weeks to be absolutely fine, but when Carboplatin was added I had a couple of tired days that week - usually 4 days later. It did cause me to have some discoloured nails though.

    Best wishes to you x

Hi, thank you for your advice.

I will keep an eye on my nails, and see how things go
