Hi
Has anyone out there had Whole Brain Radiotherapy for Brain mets?
I was diagnosed with the brain mets in November, and had 10 sessions of Radiotherapy. It wasn't a good experience and I still have some side effects including headaches and a dry mouth but mainly anxiety now. I'm normally really positive but this latest diagnosis has knocked me for six.
I also have sternum, spine and liver mets and am also having chemo called Kadcyla, other than that I'm in perfect health!!!!!!
other than that I'm in perfect health!!!!!!
You made me chuckle. I keep saying exactly the same thing about my own cancer! My blood pressure, heart rate, saturation and temperature are always at a range a healthy 18-year old would be proud of. So, I keep telling them.....
I have no experience with what you are describing, but if I were faced with that, I would ask my oncologist very closely about what he or she were hoping to achieve vs the possible risks and side effects, and find out in advance how I would be monitored, at what intervals, and anything else I might consider I needed to know, including, periodically, asking about any new treatments that have come out or are about to come out.
