4th Covid Jab during Chemo

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had a 4th jab during Chemo and how they got on.  Not been the least bit worried about my previous 3 jabs but nervous about this one.

  • No, not been offered one tbh. My GP has also offered me a Pneumococcal vaccination too which I'm in a dilemma about. I'm a believer in vaccinations but having a weakened immune system I'm wondering how much more my body can cope with at the moment.

  • I know what you mean, I’m doing ok with side effects but after Zoldrinic Acide infusion a couple of weeks ago I ended up in A&E with high temperature. There probably isn’t a connection but it’s made me nervous. I got the message from my chemo hospital to let me know I could request a 4th jab.

  • Hi Moco

I had all 4 of the Covid vaccines while on chemo. The first two while on EC &Doetaxol and the others while on Hereptin, Pretuzuab and latterly on Phesgo. I also got the pneumococcal vaccine. I had no problems from the vaccines. However I did worry that the early ones might not have had full effect, as the usual reaction to vaccine in my arm muscle was damped down immediately by the steroid cover given along with the chemo,  although I could feel it start up again five or six days later. I am not giving advice, just relating my experience.

    All the best

  • I had my 3rd jab during chemo and I was fine, ironically better than when I had my first not on chemo x

  • Thank you Anna12345

  • Had my first covid jag the day after my first chemo. When I went back for my second jag they asked if I'd had any side effects from the first one. I said "uuhhh... my hair fell out?" Smile

Both covid jags (Pfizer) and one flu jag during chemo were absolutely fine. My third jag was Moderna and I was fluey/shivery for a few hours, then fourth jag was Pfizer and again no reaction.
