I had a mastectomy on January 18th. Surgical incision is healing well but having real problems with Seroma fluid. Had 500mls drained (yes my Consultant used a cannula and not a needle!) 16 days post surgery. Most was actually old blood. About 300mls seroma filled cavity again. Hospital has given me corrugated foam which is helping. Been told it could take months to clear. Anyone else experienced this??
Hi Caz2005 I had a seroma after lumpectomy. It was drained and like yours it immediately returned. I was told I could have it drained again but best not to unless I really couldn't bear it because chances were it would keep coming back and each time it's drained there wold be a risk of introducing an infection. It did eventually go but it took a few months before it shrunk enough for me not to feel it any more and almost a year before it was fully gone - it could still be seen at my 9month ultrasound check but I couldn't feel it.
Try and hang in there if you can, it should eventually go.
Hi Godwilling
Yes I was told to try and avoid further drainage. Gotta be patient I know. Thanks for replying xx
It was the boob battle on fb
I bought mine in superdrug from their naturally radiant range (currently bogof or was on Sunday)
Rose quartz roller and rose quartz gua sha stone
Mine arrived on Tuesday. I've used it for the past couple of days. Quite good also on my arm where the nerves were cut for the Axillary clearance
