Hi folks
I'm about to start chemo and wondered what your thoughts are on head coverings for when Ioose my hair. I'm not that keen on the idea of wigs.
All advice and tips welcome.
Thanks
Carolyn
I have lived in beanie hats, chuck ‘chemo beanie hat’ into google and loads will come up. I got some off Etsy, mostly, there’s a company on there DJC Boutique and they have a huge range of colours and patterns. I’ve even got going ‘out out’ beanies I have got a wig it it’s never been in my head once, I like it but I don’t know, I’ve never worn it x
Thanks Anna. I've got a stripey 1 from DJC it's lovely and their choice is amazing - very soft too!
I think I'd feel the same about a wig. I had an old aunty who used to take hers off to get the Yorkshire puds out of the oven - so I always think of her
Thank again

Hiya
Thanks for that. I'll have a look at those. Good to know your hair is growing back so quickly.

I agree Etsy has been great for me and particularly DJC. I decided against a wig. I couldn't see the point. There are lots of pretty beanies and headcoverings out there in every colour you could want
So true - massive choice and I love DJC.
Thanks ladies!

I just had a lot of different hats - beanies for indoors, woolen ones for outside, and the Peruvian style with pleats that I still wear now as it's so cosy over the ears!
I did get a couple of pre-knotted scarf/hats from chemo headwear online but only every wore those for all my appointments as they were cool enough to wear both indoors and out, I would have been far too hot wearing a hat and I had loads of hot flushes due to sudden menopause. All the other hats I can still wear if I want to, but those scarf ones look a lot like you're going through chemo so I keep meaning to donate them. I didn't mind that at all at the time - I was going through chemo and was never bothered by that.
I got a wig, but never wore it. It just didn't feel like me

Thanks that's great and confirms what I was thinking.
I've never fancied a wig and most people say they never wore theirs. Beanies seem to be the most popular and I know exactly what you mean about the headscarves.
Cheers
