I had 2 iron infusions after my lumpectomy and removal of lymph nodes. Blood test today. How can I still be anaemic?
Sorry to hear you are anaemic . I’m sure as you recover things will return to normal . I have suffered in a similar way and I ended up having 5 blood transfusions after my operation. You will get there xxx
GP phoned, wants me to start iron tablets asap. Seeing Oncologist Monday for treatment plan so will discuss with him
That’s good news . I was started in iron but they made me feel sick and gave me diarrhoea. I think I will ring my GP tomorrow to see if there is any alternative as I feel my iron may still be low and need it to be normal ready for oncology xxx
There is a slow release version I had many years ago, which I tolerated. Not looking forward to starting them at all, expecting to feel nauseous tbh
I may ask the doctors about the slow release one then so thanks . Your braver than me I gave up taking the ones I was prescribed by the hospital couldn’t put up with it on top of everything else . Hope it’s not too bad for you though xxx
Thanks, time will tell. Just worried could delay my treatment starting if I don't at least try!
Yea I feel the same about mine . I am seeing my oncologist on 28th so will see if I can get some that I can tolerate a bit more xxx
