Hi everyone. im going for pre-ops tomorrow ready for Sentinel Node Procedure next week and Mastectomy 2 weeks on from that. Possibly having an expanding implant. I guess i'm waiting to seek the outcome of the SNB to know for sure. The nodes were clear in ulrasound.
What should i expect following the procedure - soreness/recovery etc.....
I had lymph nodes biopsies twice before my mastectomy, and for me it was unremarkable, no soreness during or after, and no need for recovery. It was done using an ultrasound. I hope your procedure is the same as mine and so is the experience. By the way, in spite of getting negative results on both biopsies my surgeon still grabbed the sentinel and the one right next to it just to be sure, and I was glad she did that, I needed to see that pathology report (and so did my oncologist
