Hi friends
I was diagnosed TNBC last May. I have finished 6 cycle of Chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. The oncology consultant said due to the biopsy results on my lymph node has some cancer cells. It would be beneficial to put me on another 8 cycle of Capecitabine. I will start Capecitabine on the last week of Feb. I want to back to work in some firm. Does anyone have any experiences for carry on working during oral chemo?
Thanks
Hello
Im a step behind you so haven't started oral chemo yet as I have radiation to go first but wanted to say I worked through all of my IV chemo. I've been working from home though and I've been really lucky with my side effects. I think as long as you don't come into contact with lots of people, and feel well enough then you are fine to work. I know we still have to have our bloods taken for each cycle so have the same risks and challenges as we did for IV chemo.
I hope you get on well when you start at the end of Feb!
hi
i thought i had respoinded to tis ealrier but it disappeared.
i had 2 cycles of capecitabine and was able to work from home throughout. i'm now on IV chemo and while im managing to find good days to work in the days after treatment, for me it hasnt been as easy as the capecitabine.
good luck.
Hi, I had IV chemo and worked throughout, mostly from home and I did have flexibility to take it a bit easier on tougher days, but I never had a day that I didn’t do some work. Hope this helps
