Treatment Plan Appointment

Hi All!

I'm relatively new to all this.

I was diagnosed with Grade 3 Invasive Breast Cancer a month ago, Hormone Negative and still awaiting HER2 results but probably going to be Triple Negative.

I have my appointment for treatment plan on Wednesday and I was just wondering if anyone can let me know what to expect?

I've already been told I'll be facing chemo, radio and surgery but in what order I don't know.

I'm struggling with the unknown of time scales etc. I work full time and I am only entitled to SSP so will need to take as little time off as possible due to finances... which sucks that I need to take that into account!

Any help or advice would be most welcome... even if only to take my mind off the wait!

Thank you.

  • Hi

I am sorry you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

I had ER+ cancer, so don't know specifically regarding your treatment, so I've included a link here to MacMillan's treatment page regarding Triple Negative BC.

With regards to managing financially, I'd recommend giving MacMillan a call on the number at the very bottom of that link, so that they can give you more information regarding any benefits you may be entitled to.

By answering your query, this will have 'bumped it up' to the first page, so there maybe someone around at this time who can give you more information than I.

    Kindest wishes,

    Lesley

  • Thank you so much for your help x

  • Sorry you are here I have tnbc most of the time it is chemo followed by surgery then radiotherapy and if any residual cancer when surgery performed oral chemo. Every treatment varies so this mayn’t be yours.
I worked whilst on chemo as it is doable but if your job is customer facing it maybe risky due to lowered immunity. Depending on which surgery you have recovery time not bad (I had bilateral mastectomies) radiotherapy was easy a bit of tiredness I hope this helps
