Hi finished chemo on December 16, had 3 rounds of ec and 3 of docetaxel after 2 surgeries, mastectomy and full lymph removal.

I’m on week 4 after chemo finished but some days feel worse than during chemo, head feels pressure like I’m going to faint, dizzy and like I’m just holding on or I’ll keel over.  Legs feel like I’ve done a hard workout?  It’s not all the time, some days are fine but is this normal?

starting tamoxifen next week and wanted to be on top form for that.  Getting slight cramps in tummy so wonder weather periods are about to restart and it’s hormonal…..  Anyone else had similar?

  • Hi Beccah

It could be something to do with your blood pressure. I suggest you ring your BCN and tell them your symptoms and they should be able to help you.

Best of luck with the tamoxifen when you start it.

  • Thanks could be.  Blood pressure is quite low. Seeing oncologist on Tuesday so will ask him then

  • I finished the same chemo as you on the same day.! I still feed very tired and get breathless when walking any distance. Also dizzy at times and get a dry cough when I breathe in the cold damp air.

My legs ache too especially when I climb the stairs.....I'm hoping to be fitter by the the 19th for my surgery. Oh and my finger nails are falling off too.

It seems never ending this breast cancer lark.xxxx

  • I’m sorry you feel the same but it’s comforting to know it’s normal…. My fingernails are pretty brown but so far still on.  I was much better today.  Had a pint of water on waking drank 3 more pints over the course of the morning.  I walked the dogs, had lunch then went to bed for half hour, honk I only slept for 10 mins but it’s made all the difference.  I did lunchtime nap during chemo some days and I’d forgotten what a difference it makes so I can highly recommend lots of water and a nap.

what sort of surgery are you having? Wishing you the very best for that xx

    1. I'm still drinking lots of water. I'm having a lumpectomy or a mammoplasty on the 19th....to be decided on the morning after scans. I had chemo first. Imperfectly keep getting stronger.x
  • Best of luck with your operation.  A v shaped maternity pillow is brilliant to support you whilst sleeping xx
