Advice please , I start my chemo 6 weeks after my lumpectomy , I am having 12 weeks of CarboTaxol , just worried that I might be starting the chemo too late :-( :-(

  • Hi Chelseagirl, it’s not official yet if I am having Chemo. My discussion appointment is the 29th and I will be almost 6 weeks post lumpectomy.  I’m sure others who have gone through it will confirm but I get the impression that it is definitely not too late.  Good luck with it all xx

  • Thank you , good luck at your appointment I just start worring when I am on my own xx

  • I have ups and downs too and my mind definitely works overtime when I’m on my own.  It’s great to get your worries of your chest here as lovely as my family are I’m sure I can hear their eyes rolling sometimes and imagine them thinking what on earth am I on about now !!

  • My lumpectomy was on 2nd August and I had my first chemo on 1st October- I was so frustrated waiting all that time to get going. I just wanted to start the chemo. I was cancer free and had got good margins and no lymph node involvement .

  • The window for starting treatment is three months. You are well within that window.
