I was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks ago, had an mri last week and waiting for results. The only thing I know just now is that it's hormone based.

But my lump is painful, really painful, even wakes me up at night sometimes.

I do take painkillers but is it something I should worry about?

  • No.  They are working on your treatment plan and  know a lot of ladies like myself get pains, some severe, while awaiting annual mammogram or full treatment plan.  You waking at night as you are stressing about your diagnosis and very focused on breast issue.  When you get results of mri mention to them but I'm stew they will reassure you xx

  • Did you have a biopsy? My breast was sore after that and it hadn't been at all sore before.

And as Grogg says, they are working out your plan now. You will be getting treated.

I think the only thing to worry about at this stage would be if it felt very hot and you felt very ill with a fever.

It sounds like you are thinking about it more. If you try and think you have cancer in your leg, I bet your leg would feel sore.

  • Thank you both for the reassurance.

I'm thinking it's probably like googling "sore head" and winding up thinking you have a brain tumour, once you actually have the bad news it's in your head and every ache and pain is bad.

I did have 3 core biopsies, was a few weeks ago though. Maybe they annoyed Voldelump Thinking
