Hi everyone
I hope you are all doing well
I have just my 5th cycle - 1st EC cycle out of 3
felt it … was sick for the 1st 24hrs despite the anti sickness tabs 2 types
I am feeling slightly better today but I have so much saliva which I am having to spit

as swallowing it is making me feel more sick

it takes me back to my pregnancy days 20+ yes ago

my mouth has such a horrible sweet taste

had anyone experienced this and any tips will be greatly appreciated

I ve managed a bit of toast and popcorn (salt) today and doing my best to drink little and often.. icy water

but as soon as I have nothing in my mouth excess salivating starts …. It’s driving me crazy on top of not feeling well

Thankyou every one for your support… I learn so much from this forum

God bless you all and keep you strong through this unwanted uninviting journey

  • Hi Shaz T, what a really frustrating side effect, though I must admit I haven't heard of that before.  I noticed your post had slipped down the site as it is busy on here today so my reply will bump it back up and I hope someone who has experienced this will be along soon. I hope the side effects are beginning to ease for you

  • Hi Shaz T,

I too had excess saliva during my chemo. Unfortunately, I didn’t managed to find anything to stop it and ended up doing much the same as you. I put it down to your body automatically producing more saliva when you are going to be sick to protect your teeth from stomach acid. You could try rich tea biscuits as they make your mouth dry and are easy to eat when you are feeling sick. I would also try to drink water which isn’t ice cold as that can hit your stomach and make you feel sick. Sorry not to have a solution. Mine settled down hopefully yours will too.  Take care
