Currently waiting to see the consultant in a weeks time to discuss my biopsy. Have to have a CT scan that same week & another weeks wait for the results. The agony of waiting is a living hell. Already told it's gone into my lymph nodes. How did any of you cope with this wait. I'm finding it unbearable. Been given sleeping tablets to help me sleep.

  • I try to tell myself it’s one step at a time and they wouldn’t keep me waiting if it was dangerous. I try to focus on positive stories and remind myself of the tens of thousands of people who’ve been here before and survived well. And then I do things I enjoy and bore everyone to tears talking about breast cancer. I phoned the Macmillan helpline quite a few times (they are amazing) and talking about it with people who dealt day in, day out with cancer made it seem less scary. All the best for your results - and whatever it is it means they can give you the best treatment plan

Thank you for your reply, it's very helpful. Hope you are doing ok

  • Thank you. Recovering well from my mastectomy and I’m starting to actually sleep at night, which helps.

  • Hi Wishlist

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you are facing a diagnosis a breast cancer.  The waiting for results is the worst part of facing cancer but things should improve once your medical team have a treatment plan in place for you.  Try to take your mind off things by doing the things that you love.  I found going for a walk helped with my anxiety.

Breast cancer is very treatable these days so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer last year and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now cancer free.

Wishing you the best of luck with whatever treatment your medical team will put you on.

    Best wishes
