Here's a new thread for discussions around chemotherapy, as the existing threads were getting a little long.
Please do let us know if you have any other threads you think would be useful to link here.
They didn’t lower my dose ( I know you asking Kas) but they slowed it down by half .
so the speed was the key in my situation, I could tolerate a slower rate
I too had terrific back spasms like never before OMG awful , but only one overnight, where I got thru a lot of paracetamols
After 3 lidocaine injections and 2 attempts at insertion Picc #2 is in. At the moment my arm is a bit tender and sore but hoping that my next 5 paclitaxel go smoothly.
Chemo didn't happen today nor will it this week. I've got a telephone consultation on Friday with a member of my team to review my allergic reaction so hopefully it should go ahead next week as normal.
Ive got my head around it now and have just accepted the delay.
Hope everyone having treatment this week is ok
Not from the EC but they lowered my
next lot of chemo because my liver wasn’t right. No I just had bloods and they gave me cocodemol and diazepam for the pain.

Hi indecision.
You're me in run up to my first on Tues. You will be fine, the nurses will know what to do. Mine went smoothly on Tuesday, Bring some snacks n entertainment. I feel sleepy today in places and so napped when I have energy I did cooking n chores! Did my WBC jab too, scary first!
Once u get thru your first then u will know what to expect. The nerves come fr the unknown. Keep yourself as calm n relaxed as it will help your body.
I can do it, so can you. And so many people are in the sat in the chair all over the world alongside you, fear not. A step at a time ok...Will think of u tomorrow xxx

Oh Jac you have got a patience of a Saint! It's no point going against it, just ride the motion.
Whilst its not nice with the many attempts with the picc, u got there in the end, thank goodness. Now just keep dry the wound n don't strain, rest plenty.hope it will settle in time
Do u get the same onco nurse all the time? May be worth saying to them u had reaction the last round?
Good luck on Friday call, just keep an open mind in case things changes then it won't be too shocking.
Night xx

No we never get the exact same nurse every time but I've had the same nurses a few times. At my cancer unit we have pods, so sort of semicircle areas with about 4-5 chairs in each and there are 3 nues in each pod. They work from computers they wheel around and everything is documented - they will know once they say hello and log onto my unit number EVERYTHING about my treatment over the past 13 weeks. I would imagine that my allergic reaction will be in big red letters with a flashing warning sign
When I speak to my team tomorrow I want to ask them whether cycles 4 & 5 which either failed or didn't happen, will be tagged on at the end, whether my dose will be reduced next week, what will happen with further cycles if I have a reaction again, will I be offered a different drug.
I have a list prepared so my chemo fogged brain doesn't let me down
Good luck, u got it covered, good girl! I am sure the medical team can tweak treatment so u can continue. Praying all goes well. You're really brave.
I did my WBC jab yday and hope I got it right. Growing up fast for this 40s, so many firsts in my life last and this year!! Lol
