I am having a break from taking Anastrozole due to severe back pain. I have arthritis as it is but I have read that Anastrozole can cause permanent damage. So I just wondered if anyone else had similar problems ? Hugs x
i also have osteo arthritis and had a total left knee replacement in 2012 and then was diagnosed with BC in 2013 and following surgery and radiotherapy was put on Anastrazole for 5 years. I think the drug did contribute to additional aches and pain but for me not that much to cause any real issues. The drug treatment was ended in 2018 which concerned me as my tumour was a hormone receptor and to my dismay I found another lump in the same breast in April this year so it did seem to be doing its work when I was taking it anyway.
Iv taken ANASTROZOLE for 3 years now and developed Osteoarthritis in my spine I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis top & bottom of my spine.
im in two minds weather to continue taking this drug as my oncologist said it would aggravate my condition more and it does I’m sure with lower back pain bone pain in general not to mention the constant fatigue.
I’m getting really bad flare ups and at times I think quality of life is more important and if I didn’t take it would it ease my symptoms.
I didn’t have any of this before I started the medication and do wonder if this is the cause.
Really wish you well and hope that you have had yourself checked out I had to have two mri scans.
