Hi I'm 34 and have a lump in my left breast in the upper outter quadrant. I went to my doctor on Monday 18th and I'm now in the two week referral period.
Everything I have googled is pointing towards it being cancer. Breast cancer is more typical in the left breat and in the upper outter quadrant.
However... I can only feel the lump when I'm sat up or standing up. I can't feel it lying down on my back or sides or leaning over.
My mum felt it without me pointing to the location and my doctor felt it too, but again only when I was upright.
It's a hard lump, can't be moved.
Does anybody have experience of this type of lump?
Yes that is exactly my symptoms and I was diagnosed with tnbc but it could be yours is not cancer they say most cases aren’t. The waiting will be the worst but the breast clinics are so slick you should have your answer not long after your appointment. They will give your a breast care nurse and she will be a good source of information.
google is a dangerous place if you are anxious so if you can. leave it alone. Ask your questions on a forum like this
wishing you good luck
Doodlebug21, I really feel for you hun. There is no point in saying not to worry as you will. What I would say is that the internet can be a useful research tool, however, it can lead you down a worry path that you may not of had to endure. You can torture yourself and I have done it many times myself. Sometimes the internet is more of a curse than a blessing but the positive thing is that you have come to us ( like Dc6 said). Be kind to yourself as human nature makes you fear the worst sometimes. I tend to think the worst will happen to prepare myself then anything good is a bonus but that is wearing.
if you can try distraction? Watch movies, do what you love doing, see friends as best you can? It will be at the back of your mind but try to do things that give you less opportunity to search the internet?
Warm hugs,
Bekky
