Hello, in May I had a radical excision & then in July I had a quadrantectomy and lymph node clearance...Pain was quite intense at first I had forcing under my armpit & the nerve pain touching my skiwas awful but over time & lots of exercises it really eased ..I have a lot of numb areas but feeling is starting to come back in parts however over last week the pain where I had my lymph nodes, remod is quite bad again and side of my ribs & the sore feeling is back under my arm & skin sore all down my arm has anyone else had this it's really stressing me out..I'm currently having chemo so body feels battered aswell ..i live in Bulgaria care & treatment has been fantastic and so fast but they don't have support out here & anyone to really talk to ...thanks x
It’s another name for a wide excision lumpectomy. It’s what I had - the result was a breast reduction from a D cup to a B cup. It’s been 3 weeks for me an I’m still getting a lot of discomfort. My surgeon says that medically speaking it’s a huge op and much more difficult recovery than a simple mastectomy. I suppose because all the painful nerves are still there and have been mucked about with.
Thanks for that , I expect the pain must have been awful , yes my nerves gone so it must be difficult for you to still have them . Best wishes for a speedy recovery hope you feel better soon . It's eleven weeks for me and just scar tightness now driving me mad ! Take care
