    Hi Kesten01

What is a quadrantectomy? I had bilateral mastectomy and node clearance lots of surgical scar tightness it getting in my nerves ! It's not cording is it?

  • It’s another name for a wide excision lumpectomy. It’s what I had - the result was a breast reduction from a D cup to a B cup. It’s been 3 weeks for me an I’m still getting a lot of discomfort. My surgeon says that medically speaking it’s a huge op and much more difficult recovery than a simple mastectomy. I suppose because all the painful nerves are still there and have been mucked about with.

Thanks for that , I expect the pain must have been awful , yes my nerves gone so it must be difficult  for you to still have them . Best wishes for a speedy recovery hope you feel better soon . It's eleven weeks for me and just scar tightness now driving me mad ! Take care
