After having a lumpectomy and several lymph nodes removed back in June I have still not received confirmation of chemo. I’ve got to say I’m undecided. If all the cancer has been cut out then what is the point of chemo and putting my body thru such an awful ordeal!? Is there anyone out there that has refused chemo and what has the outcome been? I’m a single, self employed mother to a 10 yr old with no family nearby so there is a lot to think about when considering chemo
HI Curly6 welcome to the forum.
Have they suggested to you that you have chemo? They usually recommend chemo if Lymph nodes show up with Cancer in them? The Chemo is designed to mop up any little travelers from the lymph system .That does seem like a big gap in time for chemo being started from June, but maybe thats the time-frame they have set?
Hi Curly 6 .
For me cancer stage 2 both breasts and one lymph node effected they did a reoccurance test which came back at 38 . Much to high so I'm down for chemo. They tell me I don't have cancer now but it may come back and if it does it could be harder to treat. So I need 4 cycle's of chemo . im going to do it as I have got 2 grandchildren who need me around. Have you had an Oncotype test to see if you are at risk of a reoccurance? You have to be her2 negitive I believe to have the test .
Best wishes
