Hi. Has anyone got any advice on what happens in a phone consultation about radiotherapy? Got told it could last upto an hour.. Xx
Hi
I used to be a radiotherapy radiographer
if the consultation is with your oncologist they will go through the benefits ,after effects and potential risks of radiotherapy. They will tall you how many sessions you are being prescribed and obtain your consent to proceed.
if the consultation is with the radiotherapy team they will discuss your planning appt and what happens there, time scales and possible appointment times. They will also give some indication of what to expect when treatment starts , skin care advice and advice on which creams to buy
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
