Hi there,

I've recently been diagnosed with Lobular breast cancer after a routine mammogram. The ultrasound measured 35mm but the MRI is showing 85mm! I'm so frightened. I have been told I will need a mastectomy but need a CT scan and possible chemo before surgery. This has been such a shock. I'm in a bit of a state trying to understand it all..and now so scared of the CT scan.

  • Hi Poppy70 I am so sorry to ready of your diagnosis.  I have lobular breast cancer it was 40mm.  I had lumpectomy, I have large breasts.  I had chemo and radiotherapy.  I am having a CT scan this afternoon.  I have had these before and it is really nothing to worry about.  It is not painful and is over quickly.  Also it is not claustrophobic like a MRI.  Do you have a date yet?  Please keep in touch and let me know how you get on.

    • Thanks so much for replying. I just can't believe the sheer size of it 85mm. I think I'm just worried that the CT scan will show that it's everywhere! I'm just waiting for a date. I'm definitely suffering from the so called Scanxiety. I'm just so desperate to start treatment but haven't a clue what that will be. Hope all is ok with your treatment etc. I'm just so overwhelmed with it all x
