Hi all
new to group, diagnosed this week with grade 2 invasive ductal breast cancer, oestrogen receptor positive so have to stop HRT immediately - pre op next week, lumpectomy/node removal end of Nov, radiotherapy in Feb.
My question is with regards to HRT/Menopause symptoms
I suffered terribly from menopause - night sweats/fatigue/muscle pain/irritability/mood swings etc etc etc - my biggest fear is not the cancer/radiotherapy but the menopause symptoms returning (as its taken 5 years of changing doses etc to get to a manageable point)............what do people do/use to moderate the symptoms............my nurse said about low level mild anti depressants (am seeing GP today to discuss).............also not had a period since 2004 (as used to pass out every month with pain levels!!!) so not looking forward to that possibly returning too..............and tbh worry for my hubby as I didnt do well pre HRT and not the easiest person to live with
