Hi everyone.
I am 52, and on HRT, perimenopausal. Just over a week ago i found a lump, on the bottom of my right breast if that makes sense. Ive read that majority of lumps are found on the upper breast. Saw GP and he has reffered me to the breast clinic and i have an appointment Tuesday.
Had a mammogram in January that was clear but i do have larger breasts. Can any one relate to this?

I am sorry you have a lump. I have been to the breast clinic 3 times. The first 2 through GP referral and the 3rd from a mammogram recall. The first 2 weren’t cancer but the 3rd was. In my experience they are exceedingly good at knowing what they are looking at. I was given a clear steer each time whether it was or wasn’t cancer. The first visit didn’t need a biopsy but I had one on the second and third visits and had to go back 2 weeks later for results. They will examine your lump with ultrasound snd may take biopsy samples. They may also do a further mammogram (they have 3D mammograms which provide more data than the standard ones). Not all lumps are cancer - fingers crossed for you - but if it is cancer, most people get a good outcome.
