Hi my name's Jacqui just had four biopsies told probability high cancer in right side back breast and lymph glands affected. Total shock as no lumps for me, I always checked. The mammagram found it, I feel so blessed and lucky that we all have access to mammograms, I joked to the lady this will be my last one as I'm 65 she said no one more? thank god it was now they found it.

I was told Monday I won't know till next weds what type. I have been in shock, had palpitations. Sad thoughts as lost my younger sister cancer age 54 she had it behind her heart.

Don't know how I am going to make it to next wednesday as sleep not going to well and I am overactive trying to block it out. I retired in Feb thought now's time to live what a knock.

  • Hi Jacqui,

So sorry you've joined the club that no one wants to be a member of! It is such a shock, but give yourself some time, just breath and take one day at a time.

Just like you, I had absolutely no symptoms and my cancer was detected on my last mammogram. I think when it's so unexpected it just takes the wind right out of your sails.

I had my surgery in April, and I'm doing really well.

Try to focus on the fact that theyve caught this really early and within a few weeks you will have a treatment plan in place, that makes everything so much more manageable.

Its a scary place to be, but I had lots of lovely support here, and I'm sure you will too!

Take care, and dont be afraid to ask for help!

    Joyce
