Good morning everyone...I was diagnosed with Her2 left BC on the17th July..After finding a lump myself.....I'm going for a lumpectomy tomorrow with Axillary sentinel lymph node biopsies....I had a mammogram in November 2025 which was all clear...After an ultrasound They have said my lymph nodes are clear....I'm having the surgery as I've got heart disease so cannot just have Chemotherapy alone which I was told was rhe best treatment for this type of cancer....Unbelievably scared at this moment in time....The overthinking at 3am is just the worst !!

You are right that it’s common for people to have chemotherapy with HER2 cancers, I think that’s because they use a drug mix that includes therapies targeted at HER2 receptors. These treatments are intended to reduce the risk of recurrence, but in making treatment decisions, they look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk of the treatment itself. Your heart disease obviously complicates things but be assured that the surgery should remove the known tumour. Hopefully if it wasn’t there on your recent mammogram it’s very early stage.
