Hiya I have joined as was told yesterday I have breast cancer and I’ve had no sleep trying to figure it out I just feel terrified been told they caught it really earlier as was having a ct scan for a separate issue and it was spotted I honestly didn’t even imagine it would be cancer
I am sorry you find yourself here Leglessghirl
It is of course horrible for everyone but I think finding it out like that out of the blue is so much worse than finding a lump yourself or getting a recall from a mammogram. I imagine you don’t yet know much about what you are facing. They will need to take a biopsy, if they haven’t already, in order to determine what receptors it has, if any (it can be receptive to any, all or none of oestrogen, progesterone or human growth hormone (HER2), and also its grade. These things will determine your treatment. Hang on to the good piece of news here - that it was found early. Most early stage breast cancer is treatable and people go back to normal lives. If it hadn’t been found now it could have become a much bigger problem by the time you knew about it. But none of that is much consolation in the here and now of a diagnosis. Take it one day at a time and come back on here any time you like.
