Hi I am new to the group. I was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and had lumpectomy in March 26. I am due to have my radiotherapy this week. The reason I have come into this group is that I was put on Letrozole 1 month ago as my cancer is oestrogen driven. In one month I have had rapid weight gain of over 1 stone and my legs are constantly filled with fluid. Plus the fact it has messed up my mental health. I am either crying or angry. Have brain fog and cannot seem to concentrate. Is this just me or has anybody else had similar things.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the forum. Sorry you find yourself here but I’ve found it a great place for support and shared experiences.
I was on Anastrozole so can relate to side effects of hormone therapy. I didn’t have weight gain or fluid retention though, I think it’s worth mentioning it all to your breast team and ask if you could discuss possibly changing to another medication? I’ve seen posts here from folk who tried different ones before finding one they could tolerate. Love and hugs, HFxx
